PLM Business Analyst (Alajuela, Costa Rica)

The PLM Business Analyst for (R&D) will collaborate with the management team of (R&D) to deliver solutions and services that measurably improve business KPIs - while efficiently/effectively leveraging internal and external IT capability.

This position is a: P3.

What will you be doing?

• Demand Management: Lead the creation and continuous improvement of a business capability and IT enablement roadmap for R&D business including understanding short and long-term business plans and objectives, planning new initiatives, and determining how they fit into the business plan and global IT roadmap.
• Design: Lead the ideation and high-level planning of IT initiatives in R&D including specification of business requirements, formulation of business process and creation and vetting of business cases, and high-level project planning (scope, schedule, & budget).  Incorporate process standardization and simplification improvements in high-level designs to enable business strategy and streamline the IT applications landscape over time (Application Lifecycle Management).
• Execute: Lead execution of IT initiatives in R&D to achieve scope, schedule, financial, & quality commitments thru operating a metrics-based management system, ensuring adherence to principles and standards in the solution lifecycle management process. Collaborate and leverage IT competency centers and share services.
• Support: Act as the IT site lead, and escalate issues within the IT organization as appropriate
• Communicate Champion understanding, support for, and value of global IT portfolio; serve as the “glue” bringing together Local Business and IT communities to achieve common goals; and secure active participation and strong advocacy from Business and IT communities, customers, suppliers, and industry bodies.

What will you need to be successful?

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent experience.

Experience

• Typically has 5 years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 3 years of management experience in managing stakeholders, projects, and services.
• Demonstrated application of Six Sigma/Lean/AGILE methodologies to yield tangible business results.
• Proven track record of successfully executing business-IT projects.
• Has worked in a regulated business.

Licenses/ Certifications:

• Business Relationship Management certification
• Training/certification in Agile, Project Management preferred.

Competencies

• Direct business experience in R&D is preferred, experience supporting Windchill, or a similar PLM solution is required.
• Required:
• Windchill or similar PLM BA experience
• Business case creation, justification, and measurement for IT investments/projects
• Business solution requirements creation (emphasis on process and data requirements)
• Business process design and re-engineering techniques and methods
• Program/Project Management, Six Sigma/Lean methods, and practices
• Functional process knowledge needed - e.g., Salesforce Excellence.
• Change Leadership - manages, leads, and enables the process of change.
• Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives.
