About NexHealth
Our healthcare system is frustratingly analog. When you live in a world of one-tap car rides, meal delivery, and unlimited streaming, why do you have to call to schedule an appointment with a doctor and are still handed a clipboard to fill in a form? NexHealth’s mission is to accelerate innovation in healthcare. We’re doing this by connecting patients, doctors, and developers. We’re the first to fully automate the integration with health record systems, paving the way for a new generation of disruptive health-tech companies
Here's some of what we've accomplished:
- $125M Series C at $1B valuation
- Manage more than 75 million patient records
- 80%+ annual revenue growth
- Top 10% of Inc. 5000 (2022)
Platform Engineering at NexHealth
It’s an exciting time to be an engineer at NexHealth. Customers love our products and our business is growing like crazy. To keep up with demand, we have to accelerate our development processes and 10x the scalability of our core systems.
This team is for builders who are ready to take ownership of high-impact, complex challenges in our core platform.
On the platform engineering team, you’ll work closely with some of our most experienced engineers to drive complex projects that dramatically improve the scalability, reliability, and CI/CD of our production system. We collaborate closely with all the product teams to unlock valuable new solutions to customer problems, ensuring a seamless experience for patients, doctors, and developers.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive improvements to our core systems to unlock 10x growth in the number of practices, patients, and developers relying on our platform.
- Determine the direction of our internal developer tooling to drive faster release cycles while improving quality.
- Own cross-functional projects end to end, from technical design and decomposition to a successful launch and rollout.
- Partner with engineering leaders and product managers to generate, prioritize, and deliver on ambitious engineering goals.
- Collaborate with vendors and open source communities to maintain and improve our stack.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer, not 1 year of experience 10 times.
- A history of sustained contribution over time. 2+ years working on a single codebase, of which you were a primary architect or key contributor.
- Deep experience integrating and scaling databases, cloud-native services, and related open source projects, including the K8s ecosystem, AWS, PostgreSQL.
- Intimate knowledge of common DevOps tools and practices.
- Firm grasp of quality and security engineering principles. You understand not just the what, but also the why.
- A vision for what great software and great engineering looks like, and the technical expertise and leadership skills to make that vision a reality.
- Excellent systems-level thinking. You can understand all the different components of a distributed system, how they interact, and how customer journeys and data flows touch each part.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders, and business needs to the engineering team.
NexHealth Values
- Solve the customer’s problems, not yours
When making decisions, think from the perspective of the customer. It’s easy to make decisions that make our lives simpler, but not the customers. - Do the things others are not willing to do
As a Nexer, always go after the hardest problems. Pursue things at the highest quality. Move at the fastest pace. - Take ownership
Act like a founder. Own your roles, destinies, mistakes, behavior, and our mission. The buck stops with each of us - no blaming or excuses. - Say what’s on your mind, with positive intent
Be direct, proactive, transparent, and frequent in your communication. - Default trust
As a Nexer, you do not have to earn trust, trust is given to you by default. If we by default trust each other, our speed of communication, feedback, information sharing, and overall improvements will be a lot faster. - Think in first principles
We first identify the problem and then break it down to its fundamentals before diving into solutions. We constantly ask “why” to validate our assumptions.
Here’s a glimpse into our interview process:
