Invent a greener and more secured mobility, thanks to solutions focusing on intuitive driving and reducing CO2 emissions. We are leader on our businesses, and recognized as one of the largest global innovative companies.
Who We Are
At Valeo, we are integrating the powertrain of tomorrow. The future belongs to highly optimized, multi-in-one electric drive systems. We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Product Technical Leader to drive the technical development and strategic evolution of an eAxle product portfolio. This role is pivotal in ensuring the technical excellence, robustness, and market competitiveness of our solutions within the automotive electric and electronic systems domain.
What You’ll Do (The Mission)
As the Product Technical Leader, you are the technical driver of the project. You will orchestrate the design, integration, and validation of the full electric drive unit, seamlessly combining electric motors, power electronics, and mechanical transmissions.
Master Full System Integration: Drive the technical synthesis of the complete eAxle system, ensuring the e-Motor, Inverter, Reducer interact flawlessly.
Be the OEM Technical Partner: Act as the primary, authoritative technical interface to global premium car makers during RFQ and development phases, translating vehicle-level targets into system-level architectures.
Lead the Multi-Disciplinary Squad: Direct cross-functional R&D work packages across mechanical, hardware, software, thermal, and validation engineering teams.
Bridge Design and Assembly: Partner closely with advanced industrialization and automated manufacturing teams to ensure the multi-component eAxle is optimized for seamless, high-volume production.
Enforce Strict System Robustness: Own the product's design safety margins (DFMEA, RAISE principles), ensuring the integrated system handles NVH, thermal stress, and vehicle requirements.
Navigate Complexity: Manage system-level requirements, change tracking, and traceability in PLM and Codebeamer networks.
Who You Are
The Background: Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, experience of engineering leadership in complex automotive powertrain subsystems, ideally in full electric drive systems (eAxles) or high-voltage components.
The System Architect: Deep understanding of the interplay between electrical motor, power electronics/inverters, and mechanical gearboxes. Knowledge of functional safety architectures (ISO 26262) is highly valuable.
The Problem Solver: A natural leader who is open-minded, deeply analytical, and skilled at aligning multiple engineering disciplines toward a single technical solution.
The Communicator: Capable of translating dense system physics into clear milestones for multinational stakeholders, project managers, and premium customers. Fluent English is essential.
Why Join Valeo?
At the Crest of EV Tech: Step away from components and take full ownership of the entire physical propulsion system driving tomorrow's EVs.
World-Class Labs: Access to cutting-edge prototyping facilities and multi-product system validation labs.
Premium Benefits: Comprehensive private medical care (Medicover), structured life and health coverage, premium sports/cultural benefit access, and excellent on-site facility structures.
Accelerated Growth: Continuous exposure to European technical networks, cross-functional training, and masterclasses alongside industry-leading powertrain experts.
