About the role:
This is an opportunity to join an established platform engineering team building and supporting platform services and tools which are used by multiple Nintex software engineering teams located across the globe. You will have the freedom to stamp your own style and work with the team to improve practices across the entire organisation.
This role will tap into your love of the cloud and building cool stuff which will be relied on for years to come. This is a varied role with a mixture of building infrastructure, improving core platform services and providing self-service tools and expert guidance to engineering teams.
You will join a strong team culture which collaborates effectively to deliver the best outcomes. We are big on empowering engineering teams and our team is key to growing the service ownership model across the organisation. We are open to challenging the norms and love people who introduce new thinking and techniques. The team is currently working on building our new shared Kubernetes environment and migrating services to this platform. We are building for scale from the few services running now, to being able to handle hundreds of services running across multiple regions and multiple cloud providers.
About you:
- Sufficiently skilled and experienced in building and supporting critical infrastructure running heavy workloads in a production environment.
- Multiple years of hands-on experience using Infrastructure as Code running in the cloud (preferably Azure and/or AWS).
- Experience with Kubernetes and container-based microservices at scale.
- A strong communicator how can collaborate with others and explain DevOps concepts and patterns to other engineers to empower them to contribute independently.
- Actively build, shape, and promote infrastructure architecture patterns and practices.
- Passionate about agile practices and excited to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Incorporate security and best practice into the design and implementation of everything you do.
- Advocate of continual improvement and learning from mistakes through code-reviews, post-mortems.
- Able to identify opportunities to improve the software development and delivery processes and support activities to improve them.
