About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Technology team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will be the custodian and cloud subject matter expert responsible for ensuring the Bank maintains a secure and resilient cloud infrastructure. You will manage an operational landing zone that adheres to MAS TRMG, internal IT security guidelines, and Cloud Well-Architected Framework principles. Beyond cloud infrastructure provisioning, you will lead best practices in SDLC and deployment for cloud-hosted workloads, aligned with industry agile practices such as CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, blue/green deployment, and Git-based version control.
What you will be doing
Ensure IT operations and performance of IT systems hosted on the cloud to maintain operational effectiveness and efficiency
Ensure new application/systems development and platform acquisitions hosted on the cloud meet the evolving needs of Singapore Operations
Operate cloud infrastructure and workloads in compliance with Bank policies, frameworks, MAS regulations, and technology governance
Protect and secure cloud infrastructure IT assets and workloads hosted in the cloud
Contribute to annual budgeting related to cloud infrastructure and manage effective usage and spending within Capital and Operational expenditure limits
Act as a key technology partner and stakeholder in the Bank’s digital transformation journey
Lead and develop a strong, competent cloud engineering team
Champion and foster the Bank’s PRIDE values within the technology department, promoting teamwork, innovation, discipline, resiliency, and dedication
Ensure all cloud-hosted application deployments on Bank-managed environments are properly QA’d and meet compliance standards
Manage test environments on the cloud to enable business enhancements and new project testing
Promote, mentor, and support the technology department in adopting cloud best practices and modern workflows
Platform Responsibilities
Perform system administration duties for locally hosted infrastructure components (on-premise and cloud) supporting Singapore Operations
Maintain production infrastructure components to ensure optimal health and performance
Analyze and recommend new infrastructure component acquisitions to meet evolving business needs
Ensure compliance with Bank policies, MAS regulations, and IT governance for infrastructure components
Protect and secure infrastructure IT assets
Assist in budgeting and cost management of infrastructure components
Provide day-to-day operational support for infrastructure components
Participate in setting up test environments for business enhancements and new project testing
Manage middleware and database technologies including IBM HQ, Oracle Weblogic, Redhat JBOSS, ICBA JHIT, SQL Server, and Oracle RDBMS
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer or similar role, with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure and operations
Strong knowledge of MAS TRMG, IT security frameworks, and cloud well-architected frameworks
Proficient in SDLC and modern deployment practices such as CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, blue/green deployments, and Git-based version control
Experience managing cloud environments in highly regulated banking or financial institutions
Leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a competent engineering team
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
Passionate about innovation, security, and operational excellence in cloud technologies
Familiarity with middleware and database management in cloud and hybrid environments
