A Data Platform Engineer collects data about an organization’s operations to improve its systems and processes. Primary duties include Perform analysis and turning data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions, conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, and design. Data Platform Engineer will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements, research business data, make recommendations with reports generated using data to the company’s management and analyzing the potential impact of their recommendations.

Interpret complex datasets and deliver actionable insights through advanced data analytics.
Ensure visualizations follow best practices for usability, accessibility, and performance.
Manage and configure the data visualization platform, including user access, security roles, and governance policies.
Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization for high availability and responsiveness.
Develop semantic models, datasets, and optimized queries for efficient visualization.
Provide training and documentation for stakeholders on visualization best practices.
Maintain audit trails and enforce security protocols for sensitive data.
Evaluate emerging visualization technologies and recommend platform enhancements.
Drive automation for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of visualization assets.
Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and product teams to translate requirements into actionable visual insights.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting issues related to dashboards, reports, and platform functionality.
Conduct data profiling to understand data structures, relationships, and dependencies across systems.
Prepare analytical reports and dashboards for management and cross-functional teams, translating data into meaningful insights.
Leverage historical data and best practices to determine optimal methods for data gathering and integration.
Partner with leadership to prioritize business objectives and information needs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Oversee implementation of process enhancements to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
Perform periodic quality checks to maintain data integrity, compliance, and system reliability.

Qualifications
7+ years in enterprise data platform engineering and administration
3+ years hands-on with data visualization tools (Power BI, Streamlit, SSRS, SSAS)
3+ years in banking or financial services domain
Proficiency in SQL and Python for automation and data platform engineering tasks
Strong knowledge of data platform ecosystems, design patterns, and lifecycle management
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud services (AWS Glue, S3, Lambda, Airflow; working knowledge of Azure)
Expertise in Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server
Proven ability to analyze, model, and visualize data for actionable insights
Understanding of statistical methods and data-driven decision-making
Familiarity with SDLC, Agile frameworks (SCRUM/Kanban), and testing methodologies
Knowledge of governance, security, and compliance best practices
Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to interact with senior stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments and deliver end-to-end solutions
