Responsibilities:
- Hire and supervise FSQA Supervisor, FSQA Analyst and Technicians in their daily duties.
- Complete ongoing maintenance and improvement of the Food Safety Plan and pre-requisite programs.
- Oversee that all food safety and quality standards and procedures are maintained.
- Oversee all plant food safety programs, including environmental, micro monitoring, hold and release, food defense, etc.
- Oversee the cause and preventive action program and assist in implementation.
- Assist with training plant employees in GMPs, food safety, and quality criteria.
- Host 3rd party inspections, including Kosher and FDA.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with functional groups (R&D, procurement, engineering, and manufacturing) on quality and process control-related projects or issues.
- Participate in daily product evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or related discipline.
- Three (5) to five (7) years’ experience in quality assurance within an FDA food-related environment.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Additional work experience may substitute for educational backgrounds.
- HACCP certified or possesses a high level of knowledge related to the certification.
- Certified as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual
- Work experience with 3rd party certification preferably SQF or BRC
- Experience with Kosher and Non-GMO certification requirements
- Familiarity with Pasteurizer and Homogenizer processes

- Excellent oral and written communication skills on a general level.
- Good analytical and logical problem solving skills related to food safety and product quality issues.
