What you'll do:
- The Lead Person will assist the Plant Manager
- provide and maintain a safe work environment per OSHA standards
- follow environmental policies and procedures at all times
- safely and efficiently operate equipment
- establish effective production and maintenance schedules
- produce at acceptable levels per budget
- coordinate and monitor daily tasks of employees
- ensure employees inspect equipment daily for safety and maintenance defects
- schedule, assist and coordinate routine maintenance on the plant and mobile equipment
- ensure pre-processed material is available for production
- track inventory of critical spare parts
- properly train and mentor operators to achieve higher levels of efficiency
- maintain excellent housekeeping standards and organization
- ensure safe traffic patterns between plant equipment and customers
- monitor overall production efficiency and report inadequacies to manager
The Lead Person also:
- Performs lifting, pulling, carrying and other manual labor tasks to operate equipment designed to crush concrete on job site
- Operates equipment or at plant; when needed to fill-in as needed to accomplish productivity objectives
- Participates in daily or weekly safety meetings
- Provides daily plant production numbers with downtime data to scale person
- Reports all employee and/or equipment related problems to the Plant Manager
- Performs other duties as required or assigned by the Plant Manager
Requirements:
- Bilingual a plus - English and Spanish
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Ability to stand for extended periods of time at conveyor belt operation.
Ability to climb heights of 20 feet on a regular basis
Ability to lift, carry, and/or pull 50 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to work in dusty, wet, and loud environment
Required to wear safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel toed boots, ear plugs, gloves and various other similar items as required or needed.
