Would you like to work for the world leader in frozen potato products and contribute every day to a smoothly running production site? McCain Foods is looking for a Plant Assistant who thrives on organizing, improving, and connecting people and processes.
What will you do?As a Plant Assistant, you are the central point of the organization, with plenty of room to organize and improve processes based on your own insights. You ensure that the Plant management team and operations receive optimal support from giving visitors a warm welcome to developing smart reports. You will work closely with a small but essential Office Support team and, together, take the organization to the next level.
Over time, you will take on increasing responsibility and grow into a more leadership-oriented role within the team.
With your eye for detail and coordination skills, you will make a difference in:
- Hospitality & organization: You manage the reception area, organize plant tours, and ensure visitors feel welcome.
- Smart processes & digitalization: You create insightful reports using Excel and Power BI and contribute to process improvements.
- Facilities & budget management: From lockers to workwear distribution, you keep everything running smoothly while managing an annual budget.
- Procurement & administration: You ensure orders, invoices, and systems (SAP, Coupa) run efficiently.
- Leadership: You help build a strong team and encourage collaboration, development, and ownership.

What do you bring?
- Bachelor's degree level of working and thinking, with a relevant education (e.g. Office Management) and experience in a similar, versatile role.
- Strong organizational skills, resilience under pressure, and a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with digital tools (Excel, Power BI, SAP, etc.) and the ambition to continuously improve.
- Leadership qualities: you inspire your team and guide them through change and growth.
Employment Conditions
- An excellent salary based on a 40-hour workweek, ranging from €3.215,- to €4.341,- depending on experience and education.
- 8% holiday allowance.
- 25 vacation days + 11 ADV (reduction of working hours) days on a full-time basis.
- Year-end bonus of 8.33%.
- Performance bonus of up to 4.4%.
- Initially a 1-year contract, with the prospect of a permanent contract at McCain upon mutual satisfaction after one year.
