Planning Supervisor

Describe the role
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Establish daily production schedules for assigned product, with sufficient lead-time to resolve in which sequence products and components will be manufactured or purchased to meet planned requirements.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Logistics to improve and keep going seasonal pre-build plans, based on manufacturing capacity and storage at Distribution Center.
- Review and use work center load data to identify and resolve capacity / load issues. Make or recommend revisions to existing production schedules. Monitor schedules and processes to assist departmental or value stream personnel in achieving the goals of on time completion.
- Respond to inquiries on customer orders. Ensure that inquiries are promptly and professionally responded to. Connect with affected customers when schedules are revised.
- Review, analyze and edit nonstandard orders against a defined set of input requirements. Identify discrepancies and communicate with appropriate personnel to resolve discrepancies. Process nonstandard orders promptly and accurately to provide the next operation with requested set of output requirements.
- Plan all parts individually to meet the business needs. Develop, implement and coordinate part planning with shop operations to include such things as: Plan for Every Part (PFEP), Container and part count sizing, Returnable containers, Replenishment methods for supporting “Pull Systems”, Minimize human involvement in the replenishment processes, Integration of suppliers with production.
- Review item forecast versus actual demand patterns. Make appropriate adjustments to maintain inventory levels. Identity excess and obsolete inventory, solve root cause and disposition, and take corrective action.
YOU HAVE:
- 3+ years production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- JD Edwards or other ERP software.
- APICS Certification is preferred but not required.
- Production Planning in a Manufacturing Environment required.
- Fluent English through oral or written communication.
- Supervising planning area experience.
- Lean Manufacturing Environment preferred.
- Material Flow Processes preferred.
