Quanex is looking for a Planner and Scheduler to join our team located in Cambridge, Ohio!

This position is responsible for monitoring customer demand and replenishment levels for spacer finished goods. and subsequent creation of a production schedule to satisfy requirements.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Schedule core production runs
  • Monitor customer orders, kan bans, special requests, etc.
  • Timely scheduling to meet delivery dates and service level targets
  • Maintain targeted levels of FG for safety stock
  • Support plant production and efficiency goals
  • Interface with Sales/CS regarding customer orders and production issues
  • Support cycle count program and work to reduce variances
  • Perform inventory adjustments
  • Trouble shoot FG reporting issues
  • Assist Shipping in allocation of stock, assigning material to orders, etc.
  • Assist with plant trial scheduling
  • Provide plant feedback on overall volume of business and recommends any additional hours needed
  • Compliance to all internal procedures
  • Ensure FG available to meet customer order requirements
  • Efficient and timely production schedule
  • Effective interface with CS and Sales
  • Campaign/batch numbers scheduled and available for Mixing
  • Accurate presentation of overall business volume to support production planning
  • Effective resolution of stock allocation/variance issues
  • Overall level of support provided to the production and inventory teams
  • Internal procedure compliance
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Your Credentials:

  • High school education or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of college, business school, or related training or work experience.
  • 2+ years of related production planning/scheduling experience in manufacturing.
  • Detail-oriented with strong planning, analytical, and monitoring skills.
  • Ability to perform required data entry.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with a wide variety of company personnel at all levels.

Salary Range: $50K-68k commensurate w/ bonus potential
