Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide design expertise and FE analysis for the pitch bearing component within the OneWind organization, independently developing execution plans for complex analyses.
- Lead design support for NPI, RCA/Quality, validation, and total lifecycle cost initiatives of pitch bearings, with limited oversight.
- Collaborate with and guide cross functional teams, including Systems, Sourcing, Sourcing Quality, Materials, Services, Fleet Management, Lab Testing, and GE Suppliers to drive optimum rotor and turbine lifecycle cost.
- Lead support of the Multi Generation Product Plan (MGPP) and drive initiatives that deliver site specific customer value with pitch bearings.
- Drive technology needs and lead efforts to bring new technology into products.
- Independently develop and deliver cost out via component, subsystem, and system level redesigns.
- Apply GD&T standards to create and review technical drawings and specifications.
- Lead testing activities that resolve design validation/field issues/PAC activities, coordinating with the Fleet Support team and Regional Customer Solution teams.
- Responsible for complex assignments with long-term business implications, developing execution plans independently with limited oversight.
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences.
- Lead hub mechanical subsystem problem solving and risk mitigation activities.
- Partner with the Controlled Title Holders community across the business and global team to ensure high quality and consistency on systems design and trade-off decisions, as well as design practice evolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar from an accredited College or University
- Strong problem identification and solving ability, with demonstrated independent judgment
- Work well within a cross matrixed, global organization in a dynamic, ever-changing environment, operating with limited oversight
- Strong interpersonal skills, leading and influencing skills, and a positive energy
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and resolve complex problems
- Demonstrated project management skills; able to develop execution plans for complex deliverables
- Self-driven continuous learner who proactively drives projects to completion with limited oversight
