The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Junior Civil (Pipeline) Engineer to join our International Pipeline Team and be located in our Bangkok, Thailand office. This has around 120 staff working across a range of professional services. You will be joining a team of four who work with Civil 3D to design pipelines. The team is collaborative and supportive, and we have a focus on learning, development and a positive working environment.
In this role you will have support and career development opportunities, learning from Beca’s experts across the water business line, and will have the opportunity to design pipelines, hydraulic structures, pump stations, reservoirs and water facilities across Australia, New Zealand and the South-Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design and 3D modelling of pipelines using Civil 3D and following drafting procedures.
- Responsible for the pipeline design solutions used and the self-checking and issuing of related design documents (such as reports) and drawings.
- Responsible for the engineering calculations and design, with support from a senior engineer.
- Preparing technical specifications that meet design requirements.
- Following relevant local and international standards.
- We note this is not a structural engineering role.
About You
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, Environmental or Sanitary Engineering (or a related engineering discipline).
- 0-3 years of experience in Pipeline design, or water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Candidates with 3-5 years’ experience are also encouraged to apply and will be considered for the position.
- Knowledge of 3D civil design software Civil 3D and AutoCAD would be an advantage.
- Good English communication skills and computer literate.
- Has a good attitude to the work and learning new things.
- High responsibility, able to work under pressure, open minded and a team player.
- Can work with technical leaders from various disciplines and cultures.
