Physician MD/DO

The Physician shall be a fully accredited physician licensed to practice medicine in designated State and should be board certified as Family Practice Physician. The physician is responsible for administering direct, specifically designated services for Health West Incorporated. The physician works with the Chief Medical Officer who evaluates progress and advises when appropriate. In the required duties of this position, reasonable exposure to blood borne pathogens is anticipated by association with patients and performing lab work. Hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides direct medical care in the spectrum of Family Medicine, including chronic care, preventative care, and urgent medical care with applicable procedure training.
2. Provides appropriate OB-related care including prenatal care and screening, and postpartum care.
3. Provides labor and delivery services to OB patients – this is preferred, but could be negotiable so long as #2 is fulfilled.
4. Counsels and advises patients and their families on problems of treatment, care, lifestyle goals, and basic behavior health.
5. Practices women’s health, including pap screening and HRT
6. Refer patients to appropriate ancillary and supportive services.
7. Participate in after-hour on-call coverage of clinics.
8. Keeps strict confidence of all knowledge gained while performing the duties of his/her profession.
9. Supervises, counsels, trains and conducts evaluations for Advanced Practice Providers such as a PA or NP.
10. All other duties or assignments as set up per individual contract.

• Graduate of an accredited residency program and board eligible or board certified.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine as an allopathic or osteopathic physician.
• Current DEA, State Board of Pharmacy license and BLS certification.
• Training in areas of family medicine or internal medicine.
• Training in OB as mentioned above.
