Site, Business, OR Functional Area Overview

This role sits within Global Security on the Enterprise Physical Security Team, supporting physical security program execution across GE Aerospace sites. The position is based in Evendale, Ohio, and partners across site leadership and functions (HR, EHS, Legal, Facilities) as well as external security vendors to help maintain reliable physical security operations and standardize best practices across the enterprise.

Role Overview

GE Aerospace is seeking a Physical Security Specialist to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of physical security programs designed to protect GE Aerospace employees, facilities, assets, and operations.

The Physical Security Specialist will support day-to-day physical security operations across multiple sites and partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to maintain effective access control, strong guard force performance, and reliable security systems. This role is well-suited for an entry to mid-level security professional with hands-on experience in access control administration, contract guard operations, and physical security project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Standards Execution: Support implementation of enterprise physical security standards, processes, and site-level procedures. Access Control & Badging: Administer and improve access control programs including badging, credentialing, visitor management, and access authorization processes. Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with site leaders, HR, EHS, Legal, Facilities, and other stakeholders to address physical security risks and operational needs. Guard Force Oversight Support: Support oversight of contract guard operations including post order alignment, performance monitoring, incident follow-up, and service issue resolution. Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with guard service providers and ensure service delivery meets site and enterprise expectations. Security Systems Support: Work with security integration vendors to support installation, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of physical security systems. Security Projects: Assist with physical security capital and improvement projects including scope development, vendor coordination, schedule tracking, and implementation follow-through. Technology Reliability: Support maintenance and performance of security technologies including access control, CCTV, alarms/monitoring, visitor management, and related infrastructure. Assessments & Risk Reduction: Help conduct site security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend practical risk-reduction actions. Issue Tracking & Closure: Track security issues, corrective actions, and project actions through closure with clear status updates. Incident Support: Support investigations or reviews related to security incidents, access exceptions, or procedural gaps, as appropriate. Documentation & Records: Maintain documentation including post orders, site standards, system inventories, project records, and vendor service documentation. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve service levels, and strengthen security effectiveness. Audits & Reporting: Support audits, compliance reviews, and internal reporting requirements related to physical security controls.

Required Qualifications
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience in physical security, law enforcement, military, facilities security, or related field
  • Experience Level: Typically 2–5 years of experience in physical security, corporate security, facilities security, or a related operational environment
  • Access Control Experience: Experience supporting access control systems, badging processes, and site access management
  • Guard Operations Experience: Experience working with or overseeing contract security guard operations
  • Project Coordination: Experience coordinating security improvement or infrastructure-related projects
  • Vendor Interaction: Experience working with commercial security vendors and integrators
  • Business Skills: Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities across sites/projects
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)

    • Experience in a large, matrixed, multi-site industrial or corporate environment
    • Familiarity with access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, visitor management, and alarm systems

    • Experience with project management tools, budgeting support, or implementation tracking
    • Understanding of security policies, site procedures, and incident response coordination
    • CPP, PSP, or similar certification (or willingness to pursue)
    • Experience supporting aerospace manufacturing, defense, or other regulated environments
  • Additional Considerations:

    • Ability to travel domestically to GE Aerospace sites as needed
    • Ability to respond to urgent security matters outside normal business hours, as required
    • May require ability to obtain and maintain site-specific access or government-related security clearances depending on business needs
