We are looking for an Optical Engineer to join our Engineering team.
This position is full-time, Monday – Thursday, on-site. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

This position requires use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications- Perform photometric evaluation/tests on various aerospace/military displays, controls and lighting products
- Develop and implement test criteria for production hardware which meets customer and industry specification
- Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates historical and statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
- Train test technicians in photometric measurement
Education, Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with emphasis on photometrics and optics
- Experience with electronics, electro-optics, LED displays, and LED lighting
- Capable of analyzing electronic circuitry and determining root cause of failure (Failure Mode Analysis).
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with Quality manager to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as performance, mechanical, and electrical, characteristics.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Support ESS and vibration tests and must provide QA inspection documentation for mechanical, electrical, and ESS as needed.
- Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
- Tests will be conducted using photometric test equipment and Spectra radiometric equipment against specified optical limits in specifications, operational manufacturing functions for brightness, color, reflectivity and other optical parameters.
- Responsibilities will include optical testing, troubleshooting, display performance and involvement in all key aspects of optical development.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Read/Write Fluently in English
- Must be well-organized, flexible and able to work in a fast paced, manufacturing environment
