What you will do
- Providing daily supervision of operations, coordination of work, quality of service, and team members in the assigned area(s) and serving as a functional expert.
- Coaching and mentoring of staff to ensure high employee morale and professional atmosphere, delivery of timely feedback.
- Participating in the accomplishment of daily work as a team member including medication order validation, communication with providers, troubleshooting/resolving customer/patient related issues, and team relationship building.
- Maintains and completes monthly and annual reporting requirements.
- Facilitating resolution of workflow & IT issues by partnering with key stakeholders.
- Participating in quality/safety improvement projects, and effectively prioritize staff and management tasks.
- Other responsibilities include evaluation of staff performance, handling disciplinary actions, providing input in budget planning, and assisting with monitoring resource utilization.
Qualifications
Education
- Doctoral Degree, Pharmacy (Required) or
- Bachelors Degree, Pharmacy (Required) or
- Program Graduate, If a foreign graduate of Pharmacy, has completed all requirements for equivalency as outlined by the National Associate of Board of Pharmacy (NABP). (Required)
Experience
- 2 years Related Pharmacist experience in related practice setting (Required)
- 1 year ASHP PGY1 residency training (Preferred)
- Previous supervisory/leadership experience preferred (may be in an informal role) (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Pharmacist - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) within 60 Days(Required)
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) - Board of Pharmacy Specialties (Preferred)
