About the Role
Our client, a Global Consumer Health Leader, is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Channel Lead to drive the pharmacy channel strategy, elevate commercial performance, and ensure operational excellence. This role will lead and develop the pharmacy team, strengthen in‑store visibility, and optimize commercial initiatives across the pharmacy network.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with deep knowledge of pharmacy operations, merchandising programs, and omnichannel engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, coach, and mentor the pharmacy sales team to build capability and enhance performance
• Conduct regular training sessions on product knowledge and merchandising best practices
• Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement
2. Channel Strategy & Execution
• Develop and implement pharmacy channel strategies aligned with business objectives
• Identify and prioritize pharmacy partners for merchandising and shelf‑rental programs
• Negotiate and manage shelf‑rental agreements with regular follow‑up to ensure compliance
3. Merchandising & Visibility
• Oversee pharmacy selection for merchandising initiatives
• Ensure consistent implementation of shelf‑rental programs in line with brand guidelines
• Monitor in‑store visibility, execution quality, and promotional activities
4. Performance Monitoring & KPIs
• Track and analyze key metrics including:
– Sales growth and revenue performance
– Shelf‑rental ROI and merchandising compliance
– Market penetration and pharmacy engagement
• Deliver regular performance reports with insights and actionable recommendations
• Implement corrective actions where performance gaps are identified
5. Planning & Follow‑Up
• Develop detailed action plans for all channel activities
• Ensure timely and effective execution of strategies and merchandising programs
• Maintain strong follow‑up systems to ensure accountability
6. Stakeholder Engagement
• Build strong relationships with pharmacy chains, distributors, and key decision-makers
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all pharmacy‑related initiatives
7. Omnichannel Implementation
• Execute omnichannel marketing activities targeting HCPs through:
– Face‑to‑face engagement
– Remote calls
– Email and WhatsApp
– Digital platforms (e.g., HHP)
– Promotional meetings, Lunch & Learns
• Drive increased pharmacist recommendation for assigned brands
• Ensure products are well displayed and merchandised in all pharmacy outlets
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or related field (MBA or Pharmacist qualification preferred)
• 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales or channel management
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop teams
• Strong planning, organizational, and follow‑up capabilities
• Experience with merchandising and shelf‑rental programs
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards
