We are seeking a Pharmacist I to serve our pharmacy dispensing operation. This position plays a key role in supporting the Pharmacy Team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Ensures proper dispensing of medications to the right patient, dose, and route of administration
- Performs drug utilization reviews on all medications dispensed
- Provides patient care services to enhance patient experience including but not limited to immunizations, patient consultations, medication therapy management, and resolving patient conflicts
- Ensures a safe and clean working environment
- Oversees pharmacy interns, technicians, production clerks, and other individuals involved in the daily operation of the pharmacy
- Assists in managing inventory including controlled substances, storage, record keeping, and handling of recalled and expired medications
- Adheres to applicable state and federal pharmacy practice rules, regulations, and procedures
- Performs other administrative tasks when needed
- Other duties necessary to improve patient care and increase efficiency
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or doctorate degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy (Required)
- Licensure/Certification:
- Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (Required)
- Active immunization and CPR certifications (Preferred)
- Experience: 4-9 years of experience in a pharmacy setting (Required)
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology and workflows
- Willingness to obtain additional licensure and certifications as required
- Strong clinical judgment and knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to collaborate across teams and provide guidance to pharmacy staff
- High attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to patient safety
- Passion for helping patients and improving healthcare outcomes
Work Environment
- Location: On-site
- Schedule: Availability to work weekends and holidays (rotations)
- Typically works in a closed-door pharmacy setting
- May require working evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on operational needs.
- The environment is generally clean and well-organized, with strict adherence to safety and health regulations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while interacting with staff and preparing medications
- Capability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, including medication boxes and supplies
- Manual dexterity for compounding, labeling, and operating pharmacy equipment
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as necessary
- Status: Full-time
