PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to technicians, and support personnel.
- Lead and supervise pharmacy team members.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Act as an advocate for the Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you (AIDET) framework, fostering an environment of outstanding service excellence within our team and enhancing patient experiences.
- Proficiently review drug interactions by performing drug utilization reviews.
- Display empathy and compassion for your patients and colleagues.
- Review prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, duplications, interactions, overall safety and efficacy.
- Seek new ways to grow, collaborate with others and deliver better health outcomes for our patients.
- Actively contribute to the Waco Family Medicine – Pharmacy team culture.
- Enforces the formulary system and follows departmental policy and procedure when acquisition of non-formulary products is deemed necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
- Communicate drug information (verbally and in writing) to physicians, nurses, etc. in a courteous and professional manner.
- Strive to improve team and patient satisfaction.
- Assist in investigating and correcting discrepancies and unusual usage patterns and trends.
- Willingly takes on additional projects as needed.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in pharmacy practice and healthcare delivery.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Pharmacy Services and Associate Director of Pharmacy Services.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Visual and auditory accuracy

Qualifications
REPORTS TO: Director of Pharmacy Services and Associate Director of Pharmacy Services
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
Valid pharmacist license in the State of Texas with good standing. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required prior to or after start date.
SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

What We Do
Waco Family Medicine is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center established in 1969 to provide high-quality, comprehensive primary care to underserved residents of the Heart of Texas. They offer integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health services across multiple clinic sites and operate a residency program to train compassionate family physicians, ensuring improved medical access for low-income community members in Waco and McLennan County.
