Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a Personnel Security Assistant to support personnel security clearance processing requirements for new hires and current employees working on Federal contracts.
In this position, you’ll work with a variety of team members to ensure incoming and existing employees are able to obtain necessary security clearances. You will guide employees through various security processes for our Federal clients, including providing them with clear instructions, answering questions, requesting edits and corrections, coordinating online training requirements and tracking and reporting their progress through the security process. You’ll also deliver complete and error-free security clearance packages to our Federal clients and support employee security offboarding, which will include responsibilities such as collecting PIV badges or CACs.
To be successful in this position, a high attention to detail and a knack for communicating complicated and occasionally confusing information will be key. This position is an excellent entry point for someone interested in a career in corporate operations, personnel security and/or human resources.
Primary Responsibilities- Identify and track various security processing requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate clearance requirements.
- QA/QC documents for accuracy and completion; request edits and corrections as required; submit documents to the appropriate Government point of contact.
- Track and report multi-stage clearance progress from entry to exit.
- 0-2 years work experience in a customer service or related role.
- HS diploma/GED
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Ability to self-manage and work remote/telework.
- Strong attention to detail and organization with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, problem-solving, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in customer service, help desk, call center, sales, executive assistance, office management, human resources, personnel security, contracts, business operations, or related.
- Experience processing security clearances for Cabinet-level federal agencies, ideally the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Working knowledge of Government clearance and security requirements.
- Ability to exercise independent technical and professional judgment in the assigned area.
- Proficiency or ability to quickly learn workforce management platforms, tracking systems, and tools such as Jira.
- Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and adherence to established SOPs and QA checkpoints.
- Strong team player who takes ownership of the quality of services and work products.
- Flexible and able to quickly adapt to a dynamic and evolving operating environment.
