The Marketing Signals Center of Excellence (MSCE) within the Global Marketing Engines & Experiences Group is driving the transformation of Microsoft’s commercial marketing. As the Performance Marketing & Optimization Lead, you will be at the forefront of this transformation—driving agile marketing excellence, precision targeting, and automation delivery to optimize the full funnel at enterprise pace. This is a strategic role for someone who has run significant agile marketing campaigns and can enable innovation, velocity, and measurable impact on business outcomes.

Responsibilities
The Performance Marketing & Optimization Lead requires an understanding of performance optimization and go to market strategy, combined with the ability to influence peers and stakeholders through clear plans, data informed recommendations, and operational rigor. We’re looking for a curious, execution minded lead who enjoys digging into planning, technology, and performance signals to enable better decisions and stronger campaign outcomes, with a background that blends strategic thinking and hands on operational experience.
- Orchestrate Agile Performance Campaigns at Scale - Lead the evolution from static campaign execution to always-on optimization, applying deep expertise in performance marketing frameworks and agile methodologies to accelerate campaign cycles and drive business impact.
- Precision Targeting & Technical Workflow Leadership - Champion advanced targeting models (PTAL automation, segmentation, ring-fenced budget tests) and oversee technical delivery for automation and segmentation workflows. Ensure technical operations are optimized for speed, accuracy, and compliance.
- Funnel Optimization Through Performance & Capability Integration - Integrate go‑to‑market performance data across campaigns, channels, and execution workflows to improve end‑to‑end funnel effectiveness. Drive performance reviews that convert signals into execution adjustments, investment shifts, and optimization actions.
- Governance & Strategic Enablement - Establish governance that enables speed and innovation. Define decision rights and escalation paths for campaign changes, publish governance artifacts, and coach teams on agile marketing principles and technical enablement. This includes broader consideration of data governance and privacy implications to campaign workflows.
- Stakeholder Management & Cross-Organizational Partnership - Build strong, trusted relationships and partnerships with cross-functional teams. Understand and align strategic initiatives, and optimize models for key outcomes and impact.
- Operational Excellence & FY27 Campaign Planning Support - Drive operational excellence across performance marketing enablement by establishing disciplined planning rhythms, operational standards, and execution readiness checks. Support FY27 campaign planning by translating strategic priorities into executable operational plans, capacity assumptions, and sequencing models. Partner with marketing and business teams to ensure plans are grounded in performance learnings, platform capabilities, and delivery constraints—enabling confident execution at enterprise scale.
Qualifications

- Master's Degree in in Marketing, Business, Operations or related field AND 3+ years experience in performance marketing, marketing operations, marketing automation or digital marketing at enterprise scale
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in business

Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
