Nigeria is our largest operational hub and the heart of our mission. As our People Operations Specialist, you will be the lead architect of the employee lifecycle in Nigeria, ensuring our local team has the support and infrastructure they need to scale at pace. This role reports to the Senior People Operations Manager and is based in our Lagos hub 4 days a week minimum.
How You’ll ContributeLocal Lifecycle Management: Lead the end to end employee journey for our Nigeria team, from seamless onboarding to impactful offboarding.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure all people practices remain fully aligned with Nigerian Labour Law and local regulatory requirements.
Payroll Collaboration: Work closely with the Global Payroll Manager on managing payroll for Nigeria staff, ensuring accuracy and local statutory compliance.
Employee Experience: Partner with managers to enhance the local office culture, supporting development and performance initiatives.
Project & Process Delivery: Support the setup of new office infrastructure and local engagement events to keep our team connected.
Employee Relations: Provide expert guidance on local ER issues, acting as a trusted advisor to both employees and leadership.
An Owner: You take full accountability for the Nigeria employee experience and do not wait for permission to solve a problem.
Adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where you can navigate change with composure and clarity.
A Local Expert: You have a deep understanding of the Nigerian employment landscape and how to apply it in a tech environment.
Detail Orientated: You understand that payroll and compliance require 100% accuracy every single time.
3 to 6 years of experience in People Operations or HR Generalist roles within the Nigerian market.
Practical experience managing local statutory benefits and deductions, including PAYE, HMO, Pension, and NHF.
Proven ability to thrive in a high-growth, ambiguous environment where processes are often built from scratch.
Previous experience working within a global business or a distributed international team is highly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of the Nigerian Labour Act and current employment best practices.
Proficiency with modern HRIS platforms; specific experience with Rippling is a plus.
Ability to handle sensitive employee relations matters with empathy and professional discretion.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across diverse levels of an organisation.
