Hybrid: This is a hybrid role, requiring regular presence in our Croatia office(s), with flexibility aligned to business needs and global collaboration requirements. 

YOUR ROLE 

As the People Operations Coordinator - Croatia, you will deliver efficient, accurate and employee-centric support across the full employee lifecycle for our Croatia-based population. Acting as the first point of contact for local People queries, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth onboarding, offboarding, payroll coordination and day-to-day People Operations administration. 

Operating within a global People framework, you will ensure local compliance with Croatian employment practices while maintaining data integrity, operational excellence and a high-quality employee experience. This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational rigour and the ability to collaborate effectively across local and global stakeholders in a fast-paced, international environment. 

YOUR CHALLENGES & OPPORTUNITIES 

  • Local Onboarding & Offboarding Excellence - Coordinate end-to-end onboarding for Croatia-based employees, including contracts, documentation, HRIS setup and pre-boarding processes. Manage all administrative aspects of offboarding, including resignations, terminations, documentation, system access removal and final payroll coordination, ensuring a compliant and seamless employee experience. 
  • First-Line People Support - Act as the primary point of contact for Croatia employees and managers, providing timely and accurate guidance on People policies, processes and lifecycle changes, escalating complex Employee Relations or compliance matters where appropriate. 
  • Payroll Coordination & Accuracy - Support monthly payroll processes for Croatia by preparing and validating payroll inputs (new joiners, leavers, salary changes, bonuses and allowances). Partner closely with Finance, local payroll providers and global People teams to ensure payroll accuracy and adherence to deadlines. 
  • Compliance & Data Integrity - Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS and People systems, ensuring GDPR compliance and audit-ready documentation. Align local People Operations processes with Croatian labour law and employment practices while adhering to global standards. 
  • Employee Documentation & Benefits Administration - Prepare and issue contracts, amendments, confirmations and employment letters in line with local requirements. Coordinate local benefits administration and respond to employee queries relating to payroll, benefits and policies. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Talent Acquisition, Hiring Managers and IT to ensure a seamless pre-boarding and onboarding experience. Support HR audits, reporting and People data requests including headcount, attrition and onboarding/offboarding metrics for the Croatia population. 
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence - Track onboarding and offboarding checklists, maintain audit-ready employee files, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, compliance and employee experience. Contribute to wider global People initiatives and operational projects. 

OUR EXPECTATIONS 

  • Early Career People Operations Experience – 1-2 years’ experience in People Operations, HR Administration or HR Coordinator roles, ideally within a global organisation. 
  • Croatian Employment Knowledge - Experience supporting Croatia-based employees or a strong understanding of Croatian employment practices and labour requirements highly desirable. 
  • Lifecycle & Payroll Knowledge - Solid understanding of onboarding, offboarding and payroll coordination processes across the employee lifecycle. 
  • Global & Multi-Jurisdiction Exposure - Experience working with global People teams and supporting regional populations within a multi-jurisdiction environment. 
  • Systems & Process Orientation - Experience using HRIS platforms (e.g. HiBob and Deel highly desirable) with a systems-driven mindset and commitment to data accuracy and compliance. 
  • Collaborative & Agile Approach - Comfortable operating in an agile, “all-hands-on-deck” People team, with the flexibility to reprioritise in a dynamic environment. 
  • Communication & Emotional Intelligence - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships in a professional, empathetic and service-oriented manner. Fluent English required; Croatian language skills highly desirable. 
  • Attention to Detail & Discretion - High level of organisation and accuracy, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity, sound judgement and discretion. 
  • Proactive & Solutions-Focused - Self-motivated, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement in People Operations processes.
