Role OverviewCompass Surgical Partners is growing, and we are looking for a People Operations Business Partner to help shape the team member experience across our expanding network of ambulatory surgery centers. This role will serve as a trusted, embedded HR partner to center leadership teams, helping leaders navigate change, strengthen culture, support employees, and build effective people practices as centers integrate into Compass.
The People Operations Business Partner will play a critical role in ensuring our teams feel supported through periods of growth and transition. This person will partner closely with center leaders and team members across a multi-site portfolio, providing guidance across employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, policy application, and organizational development.
This is a highly visible role for an HR professional who enjoys building relationships, operating in a fast-moving environment, and creating meaningful impact at the local level while contributing to the continued evolution of Compass’s People Operations function.
What You'll DoServe as the primary People Operations partner for assigned ambulatory surgery centers, building trusted relationships with center leaders and team members
Partner with leadership teams to support team member engagement, performance management, talent development, and organizational effectiveness
Provide guidance and coaching on employee relations matters, including investigations, performance concerns, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
Support employees and managers through organizational change, helping create a positive and consistent experience during periods of growth and transition
Partner with leaders to strengthen manager capability through coaching, feedback, and practical tools that enable effective people leadership
Provide guidance related to compensation practices, benefits, HR policies, and employee programs while ensuring consistent application of Compass standards
Identify trends and opportunities across supported centers and collaborate with the broader People Operations team on solutions
Help reinforce Compass culture, values, and operating practices across diverse teams and locations
Maintain appropriate documentation, confidentiality, and compliance standards when handling sensitive employee matters
Balance the needs of multiple locations and priorities while operating independently and proactively communicating with stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of experience in an HR generalist, HR business partner, or similar role with broad exposure across employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, and HR operations
Experience supporting leaders and employees in a dynamic, multi-site, or field-based environment
Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law fundamentals, and compliance considerations
Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with employees and leaders at all levels
Strong judgment and discretion when managing confidential team member information and sensitive situations
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple locations, competing needs, and evolving priorities independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting healthcare, ASCs, physician practices, or other regulated environments
Experience supporting organizations through growth, integrations, acquisitions, or significant change
Experience managing HR support across a distributed workforce or multi-location portfolio
HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field
Experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and related HR technology platforms

Compensation & Pay TransparencySalary ranges at Compass are based on role, level, and location, and may vary by state. Individual pay is determined by work location and factors such as relevant skills, experience, and education or training.
