About the location:
Your own private paradise on a lush coral island. On Desroches Island, there is nothing to distract you from tranquillity, save for the sound of birds singing and an ocean breeze that invites you to come a little closer. We’re the only resort on this captivating coral island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, where the beaches belong to no one and everyone at the same time. Our rustic villas and suites are intimate retreats and will make you feel like a castaway who has struck gold.Treat all employees in a friendly and courteous manner as though the employees are our guests. Process confidential information without compromising the nature of the material or information. Answer telephone calls offering information, verifying present/past employment & handling personal calls for employees. Greet applicants and employees and handle all questions in a friendly manner. Screen applications, do reference checks, forward applications to Department Heads and Division Heads, mail form letters, process new hires, and complete new hire files. Process and route incoming and outgoing mail including all communication with Home Office. Check the office mail a minimum of twice daily, by 10:00 AM and again before 5:00 PM. Process PSA’s (Payroll and Status Authorization form), including completing, distributing and filing. All PSA’s should be delivered in a confidential envelope when routing. Input all staff information to HR Information System and maintain, update data on a regular basis Trace all due dates for managers and employees, including reviews, Standard Training Program checklists, New Hire Checklists. Generate and distribute all monthly reports including overdue performance reviews, birthday, new hire, and termination lists. Maintain the cleanliness of the office and order supplies when necessary including the operational condition of the camera. Handle employee comp room requests, name tag orders, disbursement of medical and dental forms. Update and maintain the hotel's bulletin boards. Process transfer inter hotel and intra hotel applicants including copying of files. Track vacation, sick pay and comp night dates for each hotel employee. Distribute any literature, forms, prizes, cards, etc. to employees when necessary. Assist in coordinating all employee related functions including staff parties, Christmas party, children's party, theme days, picnic, etc. Update the Human Resources Standard manuals. Prepare a monthly Department Head, Division Head, Sales/Catering and Direct Placement list for home office. Possess a high level of professionalism and integrity while maintaining the confidentiality of the office. Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation. Process “On hold” applications and no thank you (TBNT) letters Maintain files of qualified applicants for future positions including logging of applicants Maintain complete files for all current and terminated employees. Maintain the job posting system and the turnover log. Ensure all newly hired employees are correctly processed (orientation, payroll, references checked, offer letters etc.). Ensure that the staff restaurant is clean and well decorated during holidays and special events. Ensure that the employee locker room is clean and orderly. Participate fully in all departmental training sessions and regular standards testing so as to master all tasks and skills related to the Standard Operating Procedures for your position. Fill in any gaps in your skills and knowledge. Act as a buddy for new employees within your department. Perform any other tasks or projects as assigned by management
