Job Title: Peer Support Specialist FT

Hourly Rate: $15-$17/hour (based on experience and education)

Location: Prince George's County Facility 3000 Lottsford Vista Road Bowie, MD

Position Overview: The Peer Support Specialist provides recovery-oriented support to individuals engaged in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment services. This role utilizes lived experience to assist clients in building connections to community resources, developing long-term recovery supports, and maintaining engagement throughout the treatment continuum.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide peer support services utilizing lived experience to support client recovery and engagement.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members and/or community partners to support client care and recovery planning.
  • Assist clients in establishing connections with community resources and ongoing support systems.
  • Maintain regular contact with referral sources as directed and provide updates on consumer progress.
  • Prepare and complete concurrent reviews and communications with referral sources as assigned.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of all client and collateral contacts in the medical record.
  • Participate in peer record review processes and quality assurance activities.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff across all disciplines.
  • Keep supervisor informed of client progress, concerns, and service needs.
  • Provide transportation for clients to access community-based resources and services as needed.
  • Participate in emergency service coverage as assigned, including after-hours support, crisis planning, hospital diversion, and commitment procedures.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information.
  • Complete all required trainings as designated by the company and accreditation/licensing entities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Required: Certified Peer Specialist certificate.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in a professional Human Services discipline.
