As a Peer Recovery Supporter your job duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Educates clients on the purpose of peer support and recovery models.
  • Provides clients with very clear definitions of recovery and its components.
  • Intentionally share your story as appropriate, providing hope and help in changing patterns and behavior.
  • Be well informed about trauma and explore with clients their experiences and support them in getting appropriate resources aide in their recovery.
  • Help patients develop a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP).
  • Help persons in crisis explore options to benefit in recovery and maintaining stability.
  • Provide culturally-sensitive and age-specific services. 
  • Focus positively on emotional growth, strengths, and recovery goals.
  • Encourage clients to become self-directed and focused on their strengths.
  • Provide resources beneficial in recovery.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Meet the State of Ohio requirements for Peer Recovery Supporter certification
  • State of Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Certification required
  • Valid driver license and reliable transportation
  • Active listening skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook and Teams
  • Adept at learning and navigating electronic health record systems
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate boundaries and ethical behavior in accordance with Peer Recovery Supporter guidelines
