Summary Generated by Built In

At the Medical College of Wisconsin, innovation meets compassion. As a Pediatric Psychometrist, you’ll help drive life-changing healthcare initiatives in a supportive, inclusive environment that values diversity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Why this role matters

We’re searching for a compassionate, detail-oriented professional passionate about working with children. In this role, you’ll conduct and score psychological assessments, providing crucial insights for treatment planning — at our newest clinic site, the Ashwaubenon Clinic-Children’s Wisconsin in Green Bay, WI.

What you’ll do

  • Administer psychological and neuropsychological tests to assess patients’ cognitive, behavioral, and social functioning.
  • Prepare for patient visits by ensuring the assessment environment is welcoming and organized.
  • Guide and support patients and their families from arrival to departure.
  • Create a supportive testing environment while adhering to strict guidelines.
  • Score tests with precision and accurately document findings.
  • Record detailed behavioral observations to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical behavior.

Ideal candidate

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. (Required)
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience administering standardized tests, with experience working with pediatric patients. (Preferred)
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, a focus on empathy and compassion, and a commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Traits: Self-motivated and eager to contribute to improving pediatric health outcomes.

What to expect

  • Location and schedule: This position is based full-time at the Ashwaubenon Clinic-Children’s Wisconsin in Green Bay — a beautiful, modern facility with natural light and sensory-friendly spaces. Core clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • Travel: During the onboarding and training period, some travel to our Milwaukee main campus will be required so you can connect with and train alongside our full team. Once established, you can expect approximately one day per month in Milwaukee to maintain those team connections.
  • Team and culture: You’ll engage in one-on-one interactions with children, helping them achieve their best outcomes. As the Green Bay site’s psychometrist, you’ll work closely with a dedicated neuropsychology provider and a care team assistant — while remaining a connected, valued part of our larger Milwaukee-based team. We’re committed to learning and development, offering opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills.
  • Growth and opportunities: As part of Medical College of Wisconsin’s partnership with Children’s Wisconsin’s expanding services, we offer numerous opportunities to collaborate with faculty and specialize in areas of interest, such as traumatic brain injury or epilepsy. Being part of a brand-new clinic site means you’ll help shape something from the ground up.
  • Work environment: You’ll primarily work one-on-one with children, with parents usually outside the testing room. We ensure a supportive environment for both independent and collaborative work, providing the resources and guidance you need.
  • Training and development: Our training is standardized to ensure consistency and quality. We look for self-motivated individuals who can take initiative in their learning process. Flexibility, efficiency, and accuracy are key traits we value.
