About the role:

At Compass Early Learning & Care, you will work as an Operations and Pedagogical Co-Culture Lead with our program. You will foster a culture based on the practices of being present, living into a coaching mindset, building relationships that create emotional safety, modeling and growing a practice of equity, and striving for a deeper understanding of cultural awareness. You will support the program with a deepening culture of reflective practice and growing pedagogy that is aligned with Compass ELC’s vision, values, pedagogical themes, cultural elements, strategic plan, and How Does Learning Happen. You will support a program that is aligned with Compass ELC’s policies, values, and strategic plan.

This contract position will be 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday. You must have availability from 7 am to 6 pm every Monday to Friday. Hours will be determined to meet the needs of the program. 

Responsibilities Include:

• Supporting the 5 City of Kawartha Lakes School Age programs in collaboration with the Co-Operations Culture Lead and Co-Pedagogical Culture Lead.
• Facilitating and participating in team meetings.
• Supporting the Operations lead with payroll, billing, subsidy reconciliations, maintaining staff files, and coordinating staffing needs. Supporting with Pedagogical
• Following and supporting Ministry Licensing and Reporting Guidelines.
• Build and maintain relationships with children, families, staff, volunteers, students, community partners, and school staff.
• Nurture a culture of collaboration, research & reflective practice that grows our community of learners and deepens our practice of the organizational program statement and pedagogical principles.
• Schedule focused pedagogical time with educators (including individual and team meetings, and intentional side-by-sides).
• Support the development & ongoing reflection of Professional Learning Goals.
• Support educators to bring visibility to children’s learning and competencies using the Cycle of Inquiry and the Visual Representation Protocol.
• Observe and document children’s learning, bringing visibility to children’s competencies, theories, ideas, and curiosities.
• Support the program in creating and maintaining aesthetically pleasing, rich learning environments, both indoors and outdoors, to engage children's curious minds and lively bodies.

 Skills and Requirements

• 2-3 years minimum experience working in Early Childhood Education.
• Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards. 
• Valid certifications including: Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, and updated immunization records. 
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• You are comfortable with technology and possess a clear understanding of the CCEYA (Child Care Early Years Act), related legislation, Compass ELC policies and procedures, distributed leadership, and How Does Learning Happen. 
• Have access to reliable transportation to and from the 5 School Age Programs
