The Role
Supports Product Development engineers with mechanical design improvements, cost and weight optimization, parts validation, engineering changes, BOM updates, prototype follow-up, and durability and functional testing. Participates in design reviews and applies problem-solving strategies while ensuring compliance with customer, engineering, manufacturing, and assembly requirements. Uses CATIA and related engineering systems to support timely program delivery.

The trainee makes some engineering activities to help the Product Development engineers to design improvements to increase quality and cost / weight optimization, help the responsible engineer to comply with Corporate and Local Requirements for parts validation, considering the Customers Requirements), ES (Engineering Specifications) and SDS (Systems Design specifications) as well as the Manufacturing and Assembly requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Support Engineering activities to contribute to Deliver the Program deliveries on time.
  • Understand GPDS (Global Product Development System) and create plans to deliver on time.
  • Knowledge and application of Problem-solving strategies.
  • Actively participate in the Technical Design Reviews.
  • Manage FEDEBOM and WERS for engineering change process.
  • Audit and update BOM (Bill of Material) with correct part levels and usage, for prototype and production builds.
  • Be aware of Worldwide Engineering changes and proceed accordingly
  • Identify validation, durability and functional test required as per SDS & ES. (DVP /  FEDE)
  • Follow up the engineering prototypes at part level.
  • PDL's revisions and proceed accordingly if affected
  • Support VQR's, VRT's and PVT, as required.
  • Deliver by applying the One Ford Behaviors.
Qualifications
  • BS or last year student of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fluent English. C1 level.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex issues using a data-driven approach.
  • Familiarity and experience with Engine Air and Exhaust components, materials, and their manufacturing processes is desired.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Catia V5 required; 3DX / Catia V6.

  • BS degree or final-year student in Mechanical Engineering
  • Fluent English at C1 level
