This is where you come in…

Our Chief Engineers are responsible for developing and presenting clear and aligned project goals and direction within the product teams they work with.  Due to growth and internal movement, we now have an opportunity in our Fabric Care Product Development team in Auckland.

As a CE you are engaging across multiple business units; key interactions are with the Chief Designers and Global Product Managers, and through this interaction you will ensure a business wide view is considered throughout the entire development process of our Fabric Care product lines.

CEs facilitate and cleverly knit together the customer requirements and product development activities to ensure we roll out the right projects to the markets at the right time.

Some of the key aspects of the Chief Engineer role include:

• Deeply understanding and representing the view of the Customer.
• Translating design briefs into project design specifications, project objectives and timelines.
• Leading the definition, development, and implementation of product projects.
• Balancing project and product Customer Interest trade off decisions while maintaining a high-level focus.
• Achieving on time delivery of customer driven products through the effective co-ordination and integration of all internal and external interested parties.
• Coordinating all activities related to the projects across the business.

Who you are

First and foremost, you have deep and broad experience as a design engineer.  You’re agile and versatile, and probably something of an entrepreneurial systems designer too. You love juggling multiple projects and you embrace, rather than shy away, from ambiguity.  Let’s not forget leadership; simply put, you have superb leadership capabilities. You lead by influence, you listen and understand challenges and then you lead others to successful outcomes.

Our Chief Engineers lead projects through all stages of the development process and across other functions of the business. It's essential you can articulate a clear vision, convey project objectives and provide a high level of clarity about the project's direction at all times throughout the development and implementation process.

These are critical roles in our business.  To be successful here you must be passionate about Product Development and ideally an expert in Fabric Care products. You'll need to ask the right questions and representing the customer is imperative.
