Role Background:
The PC CMI Market Insights team aims to drive insights & strategic decisions to help Unilever “stay 3 steps ahead” across categories such as Deodorants, Skin Cleansing and Oral Care. This role focuses on creating value through the lens of pricing and premiumisation, crafting briefs around pricing excellence while closely collaborating with cross-functional teams and agencies to embed premiumisation principles into brand strategies and execution. This role also focuses on our innovations performance in detail and identifying incrementality of our innovations viz-a viz competition.
As part of the Market Insights team, the candidate would be part of a dynamic team that contributes directly to the growth of Personal Care through strategic insights.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading pricing initiatives and analysis, ensuring close alignment with category & brand growth objectives
The candidate will be expected to proactively and independently lead and execute pricing briefs end-to-end, helping develop differentiated offerings that elevate perceived value and drive profitability. This can include briefs across pricing excellence, premium innovations, trended share analysis, share forecasting etc
The candidate will be the main custodian for all pricing data (RMS data, promo data, share data) and is expected to maintain & improve dashboards and trackers for premium tier performance to monitor competitiveness and share trends
The candidate will be expected to promptly deliver monthly and quarterly pricing reports while ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for stakeholders
The candidate will be the subject matter expert for premiumisation, and will conduct training sessions and clinics to upskill teams on pricing and premiumisation fundamentals when necessary
The candidate will be responsible to track innovation performance through annual GII. They will also act as SPOC for innovations with agencies (NIQ / Circana) and GMO CMI teams.
The candidate will be responsible to deliver quarterly innovation performance for UBS tracking.
The candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining innovation tracker for BBMs with clear insights of what is working and what is not; and recommendations to enhance the performance of BBMs.
The position will require close collaboration with BG (Business Group), BU (Business Unit), agency, cross-functional teams globally
Key Experience/Skills Requirement:
Strong communication skills – both on paper and in person – for storytelling, communicating with senior stakeholders and peers, and facilitating training sessions where necessary
Analytic rigour, with a proven record of analysing and synthesizing data from different sources for storytelling. The ideal candidate understands the importance of de-averaging data in presenting a true picture of what is happening
A decent proficiency in Excel is a must. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with managing large Excel datasets, working with pivots or slicers, and using formulae to help increase efficiency of work
Experience managing multiple workstreams and ensuring the timely delivery of key initiatives with no delay. This also involves collaboration with agency partners to deliver briefs on time and in full
Experience with business partnership across different functional teams and cultures. The ideal candidate would be able to balance pricing & data requests and demands from other teams and assess how best to address them. The ideal candidate would also be sensitive to different cultures & time zones when partnering with global teams
Able to work independently and proactively, while being a team player
Good understanding of RMS (retail data from Nielsen, Circana etc) is must. Understanding of other CMI data like household panel, BGS, etc. is preferred
INTERFACES:
The role includes a global scope for the Personal Care business group, with interactions between the BG and BU CMI teams.
The role will also include collaborations with agency partners and other cross-functional teams, including Strategy, Marketing etc to deliver on briefs where necessary
The candidate will be expected to liaise with teams sitting mainly in India, UK and US.
