Tax Operations located in Newark, NJ supporting compliance and regulatory tax withholding reporting requirements for the organization in partnership with our business areas. The team is part of the Tax department within the Finance and Actuarial organization.
A unique opportunity exists within the Tax Operations team for a Payroll Tax Analyst to support newly established work related to payroll tax filing and reporting processes managed by an external payroll vendor. Reporting to the Vice President, Process Management, the Tax Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the ADP vendor relationship, including the maintenance, monitoring, and continuous optimization of payroll tax lifecycle business processes.
This role will work closely with the Tax Operations function to ensure payroll tax processes are executed accurately, timely, and efficiently, in compliance with all applicable tax withholding, remittance, and reporting requirements. The position requires a highly organized and detail oriented professional who demonstrates strong collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Work assignments may be varied in scope and may include project based initiatives driven by evolving business needs.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Handle the daily funding process with ADP Employment Tax) and various processes required to ensure the vendor is meeting all required service levels.
Review of daily, quarterly and annual payroll tax-related integrations files from Workday and operational processes are compliant.
Running various reports from Workday to support data collection, research and reporting.
Support the reconciliation and Year End W2 balancing process including the production of tax forms.
Support review of all daily, monthly, quarterly, annual tasks associated with the tax reporting processes are completed timely.
Respond to tax notice inquiries, complete research and correspondence to taxing authorities.
Manage and serve as a backup for daily payment processes, including completion of quality reviews and oversight of production job streams/rejects.
Support employment tax audits, tax law changes, new tax account setups, and account registrations with tax jurisdictions.
Participate in or lead special projects, such as process redesign or process improvement initiatives.
What you’ll need:
BA/BS college degree or 3-5 years of professional work experience required.
Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll tax reporting.
Proficient in MS Office Tools (e.g Word, Excel, etc).

What we offer you:Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $70,300.00 to $116,100.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
