What Makes You a Great Fit

We are looking for a highly skilled Global Expense Specialist to join our growing Payroll and Expense team based in India. This full-time, hybrid position is perfect for someone who enjoys the challenge of global expense management and takes pride in being a reliable resource for our supported employees. Based in Bangalore and working in alignment with EMEA business hours, you will ensure seamless and compliant expense across 30+ countries—acting as a vital bridge between our global talent and our financial standards.

This role will report to the Director of Payroll Operations, Network and Expense.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of high-volume expense claims across 30+ jurisdictions, and ensure compliance with all relevant local regulations, employee contracts, and Pebl entity policies.

  • Verify receipts, documentation, currency conversions, and tax treatment (e.g., VAT/GST where applicable).

  • Approve compliant expenses or return submissions with clear guidance for corrections.

  • Identify and flag policy violations, duplicate claims, or potential fraud.

  • Maintain accurate records of expense approvals and rejections.

  • Accurately enter and post expenses into Pebl’s accounting tools, ensuring proper coding and documentation.

  • Respond to supported employee and customer inquiries regarding expense policies with patience and clarity.

  • Support the continuous improvement of expense processes:

    • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement scalable improvements to increase speed, accuracy, and compliance in the expense review process.

    • Analyze expense data and rejection trends to drive policy clarification, automation opportunities, and reduction in recurring errors.

    • Develop and maintain standardized procedures, controls, and reporting to strengthen audit readiness and improve operational visibility.

  • Assist with other expense-related tasks as needed.

  • Have 3+ years of experience navigating the complexities of global payroll, expense management, and general ledger postings.

  • Have experience managing expenses across multiple countries and currencies as part of a globally dispersed team.

  • Possess excellent written communication skills and the ability to explain complex policy nuances while partnering with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

  • Exhibit consistent organizational skill, attention to detail, and independent problem solving ability

  • Are a pro with Google Workspace (especially Gemini and Sheets) and Microsoft Excel

  • Are familiar with expense management and enterprise accounting tools such as Expensify and NetSuite
