Your team
In this role, you will be part of the EMEA Accounting team which is part of the regional Financial Shared Service Center. Our regional FSSC’s are located in different geographic areas and together, comprise the global FSSC. From Payroll we work closely with other financial functions and there is a strong relationship and intense interface with HR. The Payroll team in EMEA is responsible for timely and accurate payroll processing for 14 countries, servicing appr. 3600 employees each month. Worldwide we are processing payroll for over 35 countries, servicing appr. 8.000 employees. You report to the Finance Manager FSSC EMEA, with a dotted line to the (global) Payroll Capability Owner (PCO: the one responsible for the global process). You will work together in a project team on improvement projects and initiatives with a local, regional or global scope.
Your tasks and responsibilities
In the tactical role of Payroll Improvement Specialist, you will be part of global Payroll improvement projects as part of the one global payroll program. In this capacity you will closely work together with the Payroll Capability Owner, other Payroll improvement specialists , functional and technical experts from HR, IT and Finance. You are in the lead for regional and local Payroll process improvements, and act as the (subject matter) expert on compliancy, fiscal and labor law.

You will:

Set-up payrolls in new countries in the Vanderlande scope
-
Analyze operational KPI’s and effectiveness to identify improvements
-
Process input and output audits on adherence and effectiveness and report to Capability Owner and Operational Payroll Team Lead

Identify global standards and opportunities for further standardization and understand local deviations
-
Actively share knowledge on payroll best practice in our payroll community
-
Support, instruct and train Payroll colleagues on new or adjusted processes and ways of working
-
Support operational team in creating documentation (work instructions & knowledge articles)

Liaise with local Payroll colleagues, the Payroll Capability Owner, the Payroll project manager, the Tax function, payroll providers, IT, HR and other teams within the FSSC organization.

Your profile
-
A minimum of 5 years’ of international Payroll experience.
-
Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or equivalent level of work experience
-
Fiscal knowlegde
-
Experienced in working with global Payroll providers
-
An excellent command of the English language, other languages are a plus
-
Ability to zoom in (nitty gritty details for local payrolls) and zoom out (to holistic, global process level)
-
Advanced analytical skills, such as using your advanced excel knowledge to analyze the data between different HR and payroll systems.

Communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing.

This position offers a competitive salary range of €4.000 to €5.500 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
