Join our team as Payroll Delivery Specialist Italy. Ericsson is looking for a senior payroll subject matter expert, who will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant delivery of Italian payroll and related HR services in alignment with Italian labor legislation, statutory requirements, SOX controls, and Ericsson internal policies.
The role will ensure operational excellence, data accuracy, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement within the payroll delivery model. The position will support governance activities, system enhancements, vendor coordination, and complex issue resolution while maintaining high service quality standards.
What you will do
• Oversee and ensure accurate end-to-end Italian payroll processing, including:
o Overtime and variable compensation;
o Vacation and absence balances;
o Retroactive and prorated payments;
o Pension and insurance contributions;
o Monitor and manage payroll-related audits (internal and external);
o Handle employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner;
o Ensure proper documentation and archiving in accordance with GDPR requirements.
• Ensure compliance with:
o Italian labor law and collective agreements;
o Statutory and social security requirements;
o Employer tax obligations;
o SOX and internal control standards.
• Govern payroll input and validation processes:
o Input collation and validation;
o Payroll execution monitoring;
o Post-payroll reporting and statutory submissions.
• Monitor payroll controls and support payroll-to-finance alignment processes, ensuring data accuracy and reconciliation support.• Support year-end payroll activities and statutory reporting requirements.
• Provide functional expertise on:
o Payroll policies and procedures;
o Legislative updates and implementation;
o HR data governance and data privacy standards.
• Resolve complex payroll queries and escalations, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.• Participate in payroll system testing (UAT), system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.• Support payroll transitions, automation initiatives, and global or regional projects impacting Italy.
• Maintain strong collaboration with:
o HR Business Partners;
o Authorities (as required within role scope);
o Finance stakeholders;
o External payroll vendors.
• Generate and analyze payroll reports, ensuring data integrity and compliance.• Contribute to documentation updates, process optimization, and knowledge sharing within the team.• Handle highly confidential payroll and employee data with discretion, integrity, and professional judgment.• Perform complex payroll activities and contribute to governance and continuous improvement initiatives.• Apply advanced practical payroll knowledge and solid understanding of HR processes and statutory compliance requirements.• Act as subject matter expert and mentor junior team members; no direct people management responsibility.• Handle complex payroll calculations, legislative interpretation, and escalated issues using professional judgment and established procedures.• Have a direct impact on payroll accuracy, compliance, service quality, and risk mitigation within Ericsson Italy.• Collaborate cross-functionally and explain payroll-related information clearly to stakeholders, maintaining effective communication and professional relationships with company employees.
The skills you will bring
• Bachelor's degree in law, accounting or related field;• Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll delivery, preferably within multinational environments;• Solid experience in Italian payroll and statutory compliance;• Strong knowledge of Italian payroll legislation and statutory requirements;• Experience supporting payroll transitions or process improvements;• Proven experience in complex payroll processing environments;• Ability to manage escalated payroll issues and ensure compliance;
• Knowledge of:
o Payroll Processing;

o At least one of the main payroll systems;
o Employer social contribution;
o Labor cost accounting principles;
