POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of Senior Manager of Payroll, research and resolve payroll related issues. Acts as a support and provides assistance to the payroll processors, department supervisor and manager for the purpose of achieving the department goals and objectives. Ensure that only the authorized payments are made appropriately in accordance with Payroll and Human Resources policies and procedures. Communicate any discrepancies to the Manager of Payroll in an effective and timely manner.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Verify work performed by payroll processors i.e., direct deposits, tuition reimbursements, etc.
- Process time entry adjustments outside of current week
- Has access to grievance investigation reports prepared by Manager of Payroll.
- Review action forms processed by the HR Service Center for accuracy of input. Following up with them on any adjustments in a timely manner.
- Work with ADP for garnishments (upload documents, follow-up on payments etc.)
- Process Benefit repayments for employees that pay by check while on leave
- Primarily responsible for the interaction with employees via Workday Help, email, and telephone to resolve any and all payroll issues and answer related questions.
- In conjunction with the Manager of Payroll and peers, continually assesses employee needs and resolve issues related to payroll.
- Work closely with the Manager of Payroll to resolve employee payroll related issues. This includes communicating timely and effectively on what the issues are.
- Workday and Kronos experience is preferred.
- Understanding of tax compliance preferred.
- Performs other related duties as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Finance or Business
EXPERIENCE:
- Has worked at least one year in the general field of finance, payroll, or information systems, preferably in a medical institution.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Has demonstrated ability to review and interpret policies and procedures involving complex problems requiring substantial independent judgment.
- Requires excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and patiently with diverse clientele and employees with various levels of knowledge in situations involving competing opinions, significant deadlines, pressure, and multiple competing tasks.
- Has demonstrated excellent presentation and organizational skills.
- Must be able to handle material regarding labor relations and compensation issues in a confidential manner.
- Must be able to work independently, and make independent decisions in a multi-faceted, multiple-priority, fast-paced environment.
- Must be a dedicated team player, with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
- Performs with high level of attention to detail.
