Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Administer end-to-end processing for U.S. biweekly and monthly payroll cycles, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. payroll regulations and requirements for exempt and non-exempt employees, including union and non-union populations, garnishments, and bonus and severance payment processing.
  • Assist in the resolution of payroll errors and system issues by analyzing payroll-related data, conducting research, and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and help define and implement standards for new payroll processes.
  • Maintain U.S. payroll records and files in accordance with company policies and applicable record retention requirements; support responses to internal and external information requests as needed.
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of U.S. payroll procedures, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in periodic reviews and audits of payroll-related processes to ensure compliance with company policies and U.S. federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Finance, Compensation, Benefits, Human Resources, and other business partners; serve as a resource for U.S. payroll-related inquiries and requests.
  • Support payroll compliance and control activities, including SOX testing and audit requirements.
  • Process stock options, restricted stock units (RSUs), dividend equivalent units (DEUs), and other equity-related payroll transactions as required.
  • Participate in payroll system testing activities, including upgrades, enhancements, patches, and implementations.
  • Review payroll audit reports and exception reports to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in all U.S. payroll year-end activities, including W-2 preparation, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Support payroll tax, compliance, reporting, and reconciliation activities as needed to ensure accurate payroll administration.

Skills Required

  • Experience administering U.S. biweekly and monthly payroll cycles
  • Knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations for exempt and non-exempt employees, garnishments, and union/non-union populations
  • Experience analyzing payroll data, researching errors, and implementing solutions
  • Experience supporting SOX testing, internal controls, and payroll audits
  • Experience processing equity-related payroll transactions (stock options, RSUs, DEUs)
  • Experience participating in payroll system testing (upgrades, enhancements, patches, implementations)
  • Experience with year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting
  • Experience supporting payroll tax, compliance, reporting, and reconciliation activities
  • Ability to maintain payroll records and support internal/external information requests
