SailPoint is the Worldwide Leader for Enterprise-Class Identity Security.
We minimize risk and maximize business growth by managing access to data and resources across our client’s enterprise. We do it effectively and securely for every person who interacts with our client’s organization—any user, on any device, anywhere in the world.
We were first to recognize that companies could benefit from an approach to identity that addresses both IT and business priorities. We developed a unique, risk-based model and leveraged that approach for everything from compliance to user provisioning. Then we followed that with the industry's first solution for truly extending enterprise identity management to applications in the cloud.
The ideal candidate on Service Enablement team will be a self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced job, thrives on problem-solving, and is committed to delivering seamless product availability to large enterprises around the world. You will work across AWS and Azure and partner with engineering and service teams to build, run, and improve the environments that power Identity Security Cloud. We value depth in AWS together with curiosity and collaboration across both AWS and Azure, so we can standardize patterns, share operational practices, and hand off work cleanly between teams.
Roadmap for Success
- 30 Days: Complete SailPoint onboarding, gain access to cloud environments and tooling, and develop a comprehensive understanding of the Identity Security Cloud architecture. Familiarize yourself with the Service Enablement intake process, operational runbooks, and participate in team triage and shadow on-call rotations.
- 60 Days: Independently manage service enablement requests, contribute to standard infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) modules and Kubernetes deployments (EKS/AKS), and handle production monitoring and incident triage within established SLAs.
- 90 Days: Fully integrate into the primary follow-the-sun on-call rotation, author or refine critical operational runbooks, and lead the enablement and standardized deployment of a new service or cloud workload across AWS or Azure.
- 6 Months: Drive cross-functional platform initiatives that optimize cloud reliability, capacity, and cost management. Partner with development teams to establish automated CI/CD guardrails and tenant lifecycle workflows that accelerate production rollouts.
- 1 Year: Act as a subject matter expert and technical mentor across multi-cloud operations (AWS and Azure). Influence platform architectural standards, pioneer automated self-service patterns for engineering teams, and deliver measurable improvements to system availability and service delivery velocity.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a resilient, secure, and efficient SaaS (software as a service) application platform to meet established SLAs
- Automate deployment, monitoring, management, and incident response across cloud infrastructure (e.g., compute, networking, Kubernetes, and supporting services on AWS and/or Azure)
- Monitor site stability and performance and troubleshoot production issues across the stack
- Scale infrastructure to meet rapidly increasing demand—applying sound capacity, reliability, and cost practices in whichever cloud the workload lives
- Manage cross-functional requirements working with Engineering, Product, Services, and other departments
- Collaborate with developers to bring new features and services into production
- Develop and improve operational practices and procedures; contribute to runbooks and reusable patterns that help teams deploy and operate safely
- Proactively meet standards for information security and compliance, such as ISO27001, SOC1, SOC2, etc.
- Must be willing to be part of an on-call rotation. We use a follow-the-sun model so no nighttime alerts.
- Write and maintain architectural, stakeholder, and policy documentation
- Create and maintain internal documentation on DevOps and platform processes, and be able to perform live demos to a potentially wide audience of stakeholders
Service enablement (additional expectations):
- Operate as a force multiplier: prioritize incoming platform work, keep work-in-progress manageable, and deliver predictable outcomes even when demand spikes
- Participate in intake and triage: validate requests, confirm scope and readiness, and route work to the right owners when a request is larger than a short, well-defined increment
- Meet response and resolution commitments for service requests while balancing project-style work alongside the broader platform organization when capacity allows
- Partner with product and platform engineering teams on service design and handoffs—translating asks into durable, supportable patterns on AWS, Azure, or both, depending on where the service runs
- Build and maintain standard implementation methods and automation for recurring platform needs (Infrastructure as Code, pipelines, modules/charts, and guardrails)
- Author and curate runbooks so common procedures are repeatable, auditable, and safe for others to execute
- For new cloud services, datastores, or non-standard deployment patterns (whether on AWS, Azure, or bridging the two), collaborate with subject matter experts to produce production-ready assets (modules, charts, automation) before wide adoption—recognizing that net-new capabilities may follow a longer, discovery-oriented timeline than cookie-cutter requests
- Support tenant and environment lifecycle workflows (for example provisioning, URLs and certificates, and related controls) in line with security and compliance requirements
Background & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in 24x7 production operations, preferably supporting a highly available environment for a SaaS or cloud service provider
- 5+ years of experience with public cloud infrastructure; AWS and/or Azure, with meaningful depth in at least one—including core building blocks (e.g., virtual networks, identity and access management, compute, load balancing, observability, and security baselines). Experience across both clouds is a plus
- Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production; Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or equivalent managed Kubernetes is strongly preferred
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform)
- Release automation and CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins, Argo CD, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable) with a track record of safe, repeatable deployments
- Linux administration and debugging experience in large-scale environments
- Experience using programming or scripting languages to automate operations and manage cloud environments at scale (e.g., Python, Bash; PowerShell is a plus for Azure-heavy workflows)
- Strong understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership qualities—ability to develop processes and influence engineers to adopt them
- Ability to operate in an agile, entrepreneurial environment that is rapidly evolving
- Preferred: Experience operating under SLAs or structured intake in a platform, infrastructure, or internal-customer context
- Preferred: Experience with Java/JVM-based services, data platforms (e.g., Kafka, Elasticsearch), or .NET workloads—common in our Azure- and service-oriented paths
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Additional certifications helpful (including AWS and/or Azure certifications)
