Position Summary
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. This role supports payroll operations, maintains employee records, and serves as a key point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Process regular payroll cycles (weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly) accurately and on time
Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes
Calculate and process wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
Ensure proper handling of tax withholdings, garnishments, and benefits deductions
Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies or errors
Prepare and distribute pay statements and reports
Support payroll audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Coordinate with HR and Finance on employee data, compensation changes, and reporting tools
Assist with quarter- end and year-end processes, including W-2s and other tax filings
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and deductions
Qualifications
Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5+ years of payroll processing experience
Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex, SAP)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
High level of proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting tools
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
Fundamental Payroll Certified (FPC ) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP ) designation
Experience with multi-state or global payroll
Familiarity with HRIS systems and integrations
