About the role

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused Payroll Administrator to join our collaborative payroll team.

As a key point of contact for employees and managers, you’ll provide support with general payroll enquiries while assisting Payroll Specialists with the accurate and timely processing of payroll data.

This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll, finance or administration experience who enjoys helping people, working with data and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.

 

Responsibilities 

Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers regarding general payroll enquiries.

Provide clear and helpful information on basic pay, superannuation and employee entitlements.

Escalate complex payroll enquiries to Payroll Specialists or senior team members.

Process payroll inputs accurately and within required timeframes.

Manage payroll transactions including new starters, terminations, overtime, allowances, kilometre claims, superannuation and pay adjustments.

Support Payroll Specialists with the preparation and execution of payroll cycles.

Interpret pay rates and employee entitlements under Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards.

Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies in collaboration with employees, managers and payroll colleagues.

Maintain payroll procedures, process documentation and employee knowledge articles.

Contribute to a positive, supportive and high-performing team environment.

Adapt to changing priorities and assist colleagues during busy payroll periods.

 

Qualifications and Experience  

Previous exposure to payroll, finance or a related administrative environment.

An understanding of basic payroll components, hourly rates of pay and superannuation.

Ability to interpret pay rates and entitlements contained within Enterprise Agreements and Awards.

Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees and managers.

A proactive, collaborative and team-oriented approach.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to manage changing priorities and work within payroll deadlines.

Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

A commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
