Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Administrator to join their team in Stutterheim. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. This role requires a high level of confidentiality, strong numerical skills, and excellent attention to detail.
- Process weekly and/or monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Capture and maintain employee payroll information.
- Calculate salaries, wages, overtime, allowances, bonuses, and deductions.
- Process leave, absenteeism, and timesheet information.
- Administer statutory deductions including PAYE, UIF, SDL, and other required contributions.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation and payroll regulations.
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll journals and reports for management.
- Maintain employee records and payroll documentation.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees.
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including IRP5 submissions.
- Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Payroll qualification or relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
- 3–5 years' payroll administration experience.
- Experience working with payroll software.
- Sound knowledge of South African payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience with Sage Payroll, VIP Payroll, or similar payroll systems.
- Experience in payroll reconciliations and reporting.
- Knowledge of BCEA, UIF, PAYE, SDL, and other statutory requirements.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
