Tria Federal is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Accountant to join our team. This position will report to the Payroll Manager. The Payroll Accountant will support payroll operations by auditing timesheets, assist with payroll processing, manage leave profiles and ensure timely and accurate responses to payroll inquiries.

Responsibilities:

· Processing payroll on a semi-monthly basis, verifying payroll data, and ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees.

· Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to payroll, including tax withholding, benefits, and payroll deductions.

· Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.

· Review leave reports and ensure that leave balances are accurate and up to date.

· Assist with reconciliation of payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

· Collaborate with HR to maintain integrity of employee data in Human Resource/Payroll database.

· Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and concerns.

· Provide support for audits related to payroll transactions.

· Assist with orientation of new hires on a weekly basis or as needed.

· Assist with other accounting and finance functions as needed.

Skills:

· Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

· Excellent communication skills with both internal and external partners.

· Strong understanding of federal, state and local payroll regulations including wage and tax laws especially in the state of California.

· Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.

· Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Education:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll procedures.

· Familiarity with payroll software and systems, such as ADP and Unanet.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
