Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision, participates in the work of the Payments Forum to provide the payments industry, the regulatory/law enforcement community, and the Federal Reserve System with a forum for balanced, in-depth research and analysis of emerging issues affecting payments systems. Assists senior management with the acquisition, maintenance, and dissemination of state of the industry knowledge in the field. Serves as a data and information resource and subject matter expert for the Forum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts complex research, analyzes public and proprietary data and prepares position papers on issues affecting the retail payments industry. Writes original articles and other forms of media work and prepares original position papers all suitable for publication in Federal Reserve and industry journals.
- May conduct applied research, business impact studies, and/or surveys related to payments.
- Independently derives in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis of relevant information to identify and help mitigate emerging risks, issues, and trends in the payments industry, in line with the goals and mission of the Forum.
- Prepares speeches, presentations, and specialized analyses and briefings for senior Reserve Bank officials.
- Interfaces with the Federal Reserve Financial Services, Supervision & Regulation, System research economists, the Board of Governors and other Fed resources. Represents the Fed in industry meetings and Forums in discussions and presentations on research work and general retail payments risk outreach.
- Leads, organizes, hosts, and/or participates in the organization of conferences, seminars, forums, and meetings to discuss and address issues related to retail payments risk and fraud.
- Contributes to design and maintains up-to-date web-enabled tools and information sources on Forum web sites.
- May supervise one or more senior and/or junior analysts
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree or 5 year’s equivalent experience preferred
Experience:
- Five to eight years preferred
