As a Payments and Subscription engineer, you will be part of a team that owns the current payment, billing, and subscription processes and systems. Your collaboration with stakeholders will be instrumental in offering a high-quality customer experience that supports our financial aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure for subscription management, billing, and payments
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial transactions and revenue recognition processes
- Collaborate with product and finance teams to implement new pricing models, payment gateways, and subscription features
- Automate processes to streamline billing cycles, payment workflows, and subscription management
- Monitor and optimize performance to ensure high reliability and scalability of our revenue-related systems
- Integrate and maintain third-party services such as payment gateways (Adyen, PayPal, etc.), subscription management tools (e.g. Zuora) and other systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to billing, subscription, and payments
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards for payment processing, security, and compliance
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on SaaS or e-commerce platforms
- Significant experience with subscription management and payment processing systems
- Proficiency in backend development (e.g., Python, Golang, etc) and building internal domain APIs
- Knowledge of financial systems and revenue recognition processes
- Experience with SQL databases and data management for financial and subscription data
- Understanding of security and compliance standards related to payments (e.g., PCI-DSS)
- Experience designing & operating mission-critical order & fulfillment workflows is a bonus
- A collaborative approach, with comprehensive communication skills and an ability to work cross-functionally
