Monday - Friday 40 hours/week | Position Pay Range $18.65 - $22.45

Summary/Overview:
Generates patient statements and other invoices. Responsibilities may include data entry, posting payments, reconciling billings and invoices, checking balances, and maintaining patient files. Works with insurance companies to perform insurance billing, review, and verification of accounts in accordance with program provisions.
Responsible for all electronic and manual EOB payment posting, accuracy, and reconciliation. Oversees the workflow and functions of a team. Develops and implements policies and procedures. This is a working team lead position.
Job Responsibilities: • Proper processing of electronic and manual payor EOBs, including the posting of patient portions, denials, adjustments and contractual allowance. • Responsible for the electronic payment process, ensures accurate interfacing, reconciliation, and posting of payments. Researches missing amounts and makes corrections as needed. • Reconciles daily reporting from multiple bank accounts to receivable accounts. • Accurately posts patient and carrier payments to patient accounts, calculates and enters contractual adjustments, and patient discounts. • Responsible for initiating processes for accurate and timely payment posting, accurate and timely reconciliations of payment postings, and associated adjustments. • Reviews and improves, where necessary, processes for payment posting and reconciliation with improved accuracy and timeliness in mind. • Proactively engaged in process improvement on a continuous basis. • Responsible for the development of policies and procedures for areas of responsibility and reviewing/improving on an ongoing basis.

Job Qualifications: • Mandatory experience - Five years of experience in electronic EOB and lockbox payment posting to include posting of allowable amounts and reconciliation processes. • Five years in manual payment posting and reconciliation. • Two to three years of experience in the identification and processing of patient credit balances or equivalent experience.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience: • Five years' experience in medical billing • Two to three years of team lead or supervisory/management experience, experience initiating policies/procedures
Education / Certifications • Requires a high school education. • B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or related field; or equivalent experience.
