Job Summary:
As a Manual Payments Operations Specialist within the Manual Payments Team, you will be responsible for processing manual payments based on instructions from internal and external clients. You will ensure that payment instructions are properly authenticated and authorized, adhering to risk and control guidelines. Your role will involve responding to client queries, providing accurate MIS reports, and assisting in training team members.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process manual payments with 100% accuracy, following defined controls.
- Authenticate and authorize payment instructions in compliance with risk guidelines.
- Respond to mailbox queries and resolve client issues promptly.
- Meet all relevant deadlines and stipulated controls.
- Provide accurate and complete MIS reports.
- Assist in training and educating team members on job functions and procedures.
- Perform back-up tasks related to production and identify improvements in work practices.
- Work independently, identifying tasks to be undertaken with minimal supervision.
- Participate in function rotation within the group, ensuring workflow continuity.
- Process payments during EMEA hours.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in back-office operations at a reputed foreign bank or its processing arm/private sector bank/public sector bank as a Supervisor or Senior Analyst.
- Working knowledge of SWIFT and international payment conventions and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication at all levels; must be a team player.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proactive problem-solving approach, ownership of issues, and determination to follow through; escalate issues as needed.
- Strong PC and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience in training and mentoring team members.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
