We're looking for a Trainee Paving Operator/ Labourer to join our Renewals Crew based out of Wiri- Auckland.

As an Operator your duties will have you operating plant machinery when required to lay and roll asphalt to surface roads, car parks, driveways and other surfaces. You will also help out with labourer duties to ensure we as a team can achieve the work on time.

You will show your eagerness, openness to learn and dedication through the role and towards your team members of other skilled Paving Operator, Crew Members and Engineers.

In addition to the above you will: 

  • Operate machinery, including asphalt pavers, rollers, excavators and other related equipment.
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain paving equipment to ensure efficient operation and high-quality output.
  • Control and monitor the paving process to ensure even application of asphalt and other materials.
  • Attend and take part in pre-start meetings, understanding hazards and H&S risks.
  • Conduct general labourer duties when required to ensure timely completion per project timeframes
  • Work closely with other construction team members, including labourers, forepersons, and site supervisors.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Hold a Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence and WTR Endorsement is a must
  • Class 2 NZ Drivers Licence would be ideal
  • Experience operating rollers, diggers would be ideal
  • Have the willingness to help out with labouring duties
  • Able to work both day and night shifts and weekends
