Responsibilities
- Provide Anatomical and Clinical Pathology services on-site.
- Perform surgical pathology, cytopathology, autopsy pathology, and intraoperative consultations.
- Diagnose diseases, determine stage using lab techniques and specimens.
- Perform autopsies and postmortem examinations.
- Consult on outside tissue samples before VA treatment.
- Create CPT/ICD-10 coded surgical reports.
- Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) programs.
- Attend Tumor Board (weekly) and QA meetings (monthly).
- Document care per VA and Joint Commission standards.
- Comply with HIPAA and VA privacy regulations.
- On-call availability and support during nights/weekends if needed.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pathology
- Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
- Active AHA BLS certification
- NPI report printout
- Active DEA license
- Must be able to pass a federal background investigation
